Yeah, academia is just that
Being at Cambridge I can tell: the reason why many of the proffesors here have enormous amount of citations is because how wide the piramid is
many groups (including mine) is 1 prof, 12 postdocs, 20 PhD stundets
of course Cambridge profs get 80 papers/year
but what this leads to is postdocs doing supervision, postdocs doing teaching etc, it leads to the uberification of academia
