yeah, Entity Framework is great for fresh projects.

just like many ms resources you need a degree lol, like tfs, ms azure, MVC lol

EF is as easy as myDataContext.Users.Where(user => user.Name.StartsWith("Fluff"));

@FluffyWuffy you're using Visual Studio, right? Generate a default project with EF and see if you can work with that.

In MVC (MVC6 specifically), when assignign a @model IEnumerable<Model> in a CSHTML document, how do you get the value of a bool into the cshtml document from the model itself? I'm rather new to MVC in itself, and I am also semi-used to @model.bool working, but nope

MVC is a UI design pattern - of which ASP.Net MVC is an implementation :)

MVC is the standard way of creating websites and web APIs

(almost) any SQL database is supported by EF. So yes.

@FluffyWuffy do you understand SQL? Are you more-or-less familiar with databases?

@Squiggle i know a little of the theory/study, like i know what query is, how a database table looks like, that you can manage it, based on columns/rows, but any practicality? practical knowledge? nope, i dont even have sql installed, nor have i created an sql database before

argh. I'm the only person in the office and 3 people just turned up asking to speak to the boss (he's ill). None of them speak English, I don't speak German.

I know how it feels, living in Finland, coming to a place where they only speak Finnish and all I know is Swedish and English (well I do know Finnish but just barely)

@Xariez Finnish is... a tricky language. German doesn't come naturally for me, and I can at least partially communicate - but in a professional environment with people I've never even met? Too much, man.

I can relate, a lot. My mother language is Swedish so I obviously know that, I learnt the base of my English and Finnish from school, but the only reason I know english better than Finnish as far as I can see it is because of computers. Playing WoW back in the days reaally shot it up and still playing and chatting on English @Squiggle

Not sure whats highest paying, but if you want to delve into websites, I would highly recommend going into HTML, CSS, C# and maybe even jQuery/Javascript and especially so before thinking too much about pay @FluffyWuffy

I was also at Weekend Festival, in Helsinki (aka. Finlands capital) during last August, 90% of the things (McDonalds, busses, shops etc) were Finnish. Me and my friend decided we were going to talk English instead, avoid the actual Swedish/Finnish languages all together while we were there, lol @Squiggle

WPF is really useful! But doing some web-based MVC stuff would really round out your skills

Its rather interesting, isn't it? Its just a language like any else, but if we suddenly would decide German is the "common" language, it would feel extremely weird @Squiggle

it makes it SO hard for me to learn anything else. I try to speak German or French, mess up my tenses and then everybody switches to English

my skills are quite broad, come to think of it...
