@TravisJ Sorry... So I have a grid with IDs for each record. I click the the row, it response.redirects to a detail page.

@TravisJ On the detail page you add sub records and save it all at the end. On the detail page I persist the sub records in the viewstate as you add them and figure it all out when you click submit.

@TravisJ Now if you go back to the grid, and then click on a different record, I wouldn't expect the viewstate to persist on the new page but it is... It shows the sub records from the previous record...

How does the user go back to the grid?

@TravisJ a wiered bug actually... Appears randomly... stops appearing randomly. Thats whats i found on the web. Some say restarting the VS fixes it but not in my(and many others) case

@John - I believe that is an issue with the design of viewstate. For the most part, viewstate is held in session memory, and will persist until read.

@TravisJ lol I think I might have figured out my problem. It has nothing to do with the viewstate, it was my DB query, I wasn't filter by the PK... only tested with one record before... sigh it's almost the weekend...

it says: "no source avialable" ->in german "keine quelle verfügbar" , and this is all it says....
