I would assume most phones don't have the BIOS needed to run a JVM

chrome is not written in java

it's has DVM

Unless you have a phone that is the price of a car, you're not going to out do any pc, you have the motherboard, sometimes a daughter board, a lot more power, as well as video/sound/networking cards

but the querty keyboard goes a long way and all ten fingers are faster than two thumbs

with experience and a few keyboarding classes, you could build massive applications from scratch for anyone, and you could create a wonderful receipt too

Fixed it by going to Android Studio -> Preferences -> Gradle -> and ticking Offline work. Still have no idea what was wrong, but at least now it compiles.
