I have a question about closing questions for > 3K users. Is there any difference between pressing the close button and pressing the flag button for a question? I imagine the flag button pushes it to the close queue. Does the close button do the same thing? I am concerned that pushing close will not garner as much attention as if I were to push flag.

I'm not 100% sure but I doubt that flagging to close a question would bring more attention to it than voting to close it. Voting to close also puts questions into the close queue.

If anything I'd expect flag-to-close to carry less weight that a vote-to-close.

Is it me or is the question quality down like 10,000% today?
