@Adriaan In my city we had sunday evening and monday throughout the day a ridiculous amount of thunder and rain. The rain actually overflowed a river and caused some widespread flooding in lower areas here.

Why's that chap on a crusade though? Mods told him over and over on meta questions that there simply is no mod around who speaks Gujarati to keep them in line.
If they start nuking non-spam, especially on users that have rep I think they will be caught pretty quick as the users are going to notice. If they target inactive users they it may take a while. Also why do you think mods don't spot check spam deletions?
