@mikedidthis, I think the check mark should disappear after a few seconds to show the user that the button can be clicked more than one time.

@Matthew good, as that is how I currently have it (its not in the gif) The request is so fast you don't get to see the tick most of the time :D

@mikedidthis only thing annoying is that the button jumps a bit when icon shows

Then you are still missing a visual way of telling the user that more records have been loaded. I suggest a small font span just below the button that uses jqueryui effects to appear with the sentence, "X more posts have been loaded," then fades out. If you look up the .effect() function you can see that the first parameter is the effect and the second parameter is the time you want the effect to play. I suggest "500" for half a second.

I couldnt find anything so here's the problem

I have a pretty large background image (2500px width) that repeat-x as large as the div will be

it can be very large so yea anyway

It's working fine on other browsers but on ie there's like a semi-transparent mask over the background
