@PatsyIssa Not likely. Especially a library like jQuery that normalizes DOM implementations and more. As long as browsers keep developing, jQuery will have a job to do.
Selectors as a concept were around since 2001, Selectors API was proposed before the jQuery release, albeit that doesn't mean jQuery wasn't in development then and did have an impact
