it isn't perfect. reduces nitrates from ~60ppm to 15/20ppm

after my filters are toast i'm going to get a better one

all of my tanks use very minimal filtration. filter floss and "live" filtration

my freshwater tanks all have loads of live plants, and I have refugiums on my salt tanks with macro algae in them

it all does a pretty good job at keeping the parameters okay. but still, with 8 tanks I do (collectively) 50 gallons (~190L) of water changes a week

my buckets are marked in Imperial units :O

haha, funny story about hot places: I went to Dominican Republic on vacation, hot as tits when we were there. like 40+ in the shade. so I went snorkeling for like 4 hours... hypothermia. I'm sitting on the beach in the sun, like 45+ out, wrapped in towels blue lipped and shivering.

people walking buy were seriously saying, "what the fuck" with confused looks on their faces

at the time, sucked ass. looking back, funny as hell.

The water felt like a warm bath man. I honestly didn't even think about it while I was snorkeling.

but you spend that long in water that is 20 degrees under body temp.. well.. fuck.
