They are different things. Cygwin is a native windows library that is linux-like. things need to be re-compiled. Linux-on-Windows runs plain linux binaries on windows.

therefor, MS is striving for way more invisible compatibility than cygwin

the black text changes

when the next button at the bottom is clicked (or prev not pictured)

the area above that is a static header rendered by the backend

so my suggestion is just make some sort of <Heading> component and just include that with whatever <content> component there is

I was going for maximum perf lol. Keeping the headers an shit in the parent so they never get destroyed. That means either a global data store to keep track of which page has what heading.. Or namespacing headers. But React Router made namespacing not doable. I just stuck them in each individual Page instead.

ah ok, yeah I had a similar issue but I don't think mine was solvable that way as my heading component was outputted in a different place. As in for layout reasons it had to be rendered in PageContainer instead of Page1
