@BenjaminGruenbaum I'd much rather have a 'Stable' "long-term" supported version with security patches, and an 'Unstable' one that tends to break things. I honestly don't want to keep migrating business apps to new versions every other week.
@Jonathan It triggers character data mutation because the restructuring results in character data changes. The fact that mutation.type is logging characterData should not confuse you!

I have a problem where if I call functions which contain Ajax calls and return the result of those calls the caller always receives a null return value before the Ajax call has returned.
