The whole point of canvas is to be quick, so adding in any sort of compression will just make it slower and defeat the point.

@gsnedders No, for rending in general. HTML repaints and such. Which, really, has all the same efficiency problems of canvas.

If you want to just "use linux" , then sure - use Ubuntu, but understand one thing: you will be able to grasp only a small portion of available functionality
