Apple recommends a black background, and something I am considering is what Ive seen 1 (maybe more) do which is have a background image that is a dark blur of just random colors (or even the app icon) behind it

but as for the text, I don't really know which colors to use? I feel like all of that information is very importing, except like network maybe, and only less important information should be darker

Well they say use black because then it blends in and people won't see the edge of the watch

It looks basic.

It does what is it supposed to do.

But because you're following Apple guidelines, it looks a bit boring.

So what would spice it up

Personally, I'd like a white background on the labels for the show name and time, with maybe a [UIColor grayColor] colour for the text.

Maybe a 5% grey background.

But you aren't supposed to have that.

My ideas aren't good. If you want to get featured, follow guidlines.

Watch apps should probably be functional, not distractive.

You could always try toying with font types and sizes to see what looks best at glancing distance.

Instead of having a data source, giving number of sections and rows and then get the data for the rows, you have to turn your array of data into another array of strings for the cell type and then use a for loop and set the row data

Like I have headers for dates and then shows in between, so I have to check every time if the date the show airs on is already in an array, and if not then it adds another header row to the types array, and then continues, so its constantly doing date checks more than it should be

then it has to go through again and set the data for the cells, and I have to keep track of the number of shows and number of headers already added to get the correct offset of the current show to display and current header

Its alright, but... I just have to initialize so many NSDate's to do all these checks, probably about 20 just for a few checks, maybe more.. so very inefficient

But I made the date check in a extension so I can't ad a variable for that data to just use over and over

Unless I convert all methods to pass it in and then keep it in the controllers

@dev2rights does "Today, Tomorrow, Thursday, Monday" seem fine? (Dates that shows air, dates with no shows are gone) or should it be like "Today, Wednesday, Thursday, Monday" or "Today, Tomorrow, 4/2/15..."? (each as a header title)

Well I want the cache, but to work correctly

Why would it recache a cached image

Especially if its saved in the app bundle, it just caches over and over and over and over for 1 image

So 1 image for like 5 cells can be cached infinite amount of times (according to SO posts I read on UIImage)
