Hello does anybody have an advice why osx is drawing text upside down in core graphics? It's driving me crazy...

Actually, ios draws "upside down"

this issue occurs on a cross platform library

it draws text for a pdf

and i fixed iOS with some dirty tricks

but no chance for osx :(

Well rotation matrices are column major in OpenGL.

I was stuck in last assignment because I used row major matrices. I do not know row major/column major should not affect the result, I recall my professor saying that but it did affect output. I would better clarify it with professor I suppose

In the Interface Builder/code discussion, one thing that I should note is that if you use Interface Builder, you will not be able to search for anything that you set over there when you do project-wide search.

For example, if you use button title "Add Person" in Interface Builder, you will not be able to search project wide for that string and find which xib file it is on.

On the other hand, if you had set that button title in the .m file, you will be able to find the file immediately by searching "Add Person" project wide.

Is this an improvement that should be made by Apple? Or is it just inherent that when you do things in Interface Builder, it's not going to be searchable?

I had a problem this morning when I forgot where button_background.png is used on, and I've realised that I've had this problem for years.

After today, I feel less inclined to use Interface Builder as much.

@MaxHasADHD I've never heard of that.

Max: You can try this if you want. Open a Xib file, try to see if you have any button titles or button background image in the Xib, then do a search for that string with cmd-shift-F.

PS is eh, sketch is cheap and made for UI. I made icons super easy and exports them very easily. have all icons in 1 file and then exports them all with @2x automatically added

I understand why it doesn't. Because xib is just a giant XML with lots of strings that we don't care about. But on the other hand I do want to be able to search for the strings that I set myself.

XIB files are a little more readable than most people think, the problem is they're not as readable as they need to be for human use
