I know the long solution of creating the dictionary myself by breaking in small parts but a smaller solution will be really helpful.

if this were my problem, I'd subclass UIDatePicker to NSLog when the frame rect is reset.

and then file a bug with Apple.

but I feel like we're just missing something simple.

I think it has a module to detect objects and it work for face recognition also.
