I have an upcoming scenario where an app update requires addition permission requested. I am thinking notify user with a notification and disable the new code until they grant permission & keep notifying every day hoping they will do it. Is there a better way? The app runs on the background, users don't open it so cannot ask permission when they want to use the functionality

Guys, have a small question about accessing static vars while the class has an instance already. coordinateDbHelper is the instance but AS keeps giving me it's better to access it the static way. Why is this and is this really better than using the instance of the class.

IE: values.put(CoordinationDbHelper.COLUMN_QRID, penetration.qrid) instead of
values.put(coordinationDbHelper.COLUMN_QRID, penetration.qrid);
