Yeah true but at the end of the day people make life choices and that is reflected in their job, salary, career path, etc. There's also people who earn £40k but can't save it, so spend it all unnecessarily whereas someone on £25k is more wise and so would do better with their money. Of course it's harder if you're on a lower salary.

I'm sure much of it will be available with appcompat. Any Java 8 features that compile to the same byte codes as Java 7 should be available, too. Not sure if Java 8 adds any new byte codes.

Not sure about new Java 8 APIs, either. Maybe those will be in an support lib?

I haven't kept up with Java changes, myself, so I don't know what Java 8 even offers in either category
