I've never used it, but some people use Libgdx in Android Studio for games.

but now using Android Studio is the way to go

Afaik Unity has own tool, if you are looking to use libgdx then you can go for Android Studio

Libgdx is fairly low level. Not much more than a wrapper on OpenGL along with some other libraries.

Unity is good. You can visually design your game. Supports both 2d and 3d. It uses JavaScript or C# for scripting instead of Java.

I know that is a differnt story the class file is not used anyway so that compile error does not matter

because of that, code is not compiling therefore not generating R.java

so the R.java error

that error is generated by my own code that is not part of the normal compile task

so if compilation fails so does R.java generation
