I don't understand how you don't know what the parent view is going to be; do you pass the inflated view it back out somewhere or something? You're not, a few lines later, doing "someView.add(newlyinflatedviewthatcrashes)"?

yeah i had to do it for previous project

I created a separate activity for the splash though, and it had loads of actual code so I think it was needed.

If you must then make that the first activity, set a timer (there are several ways), then go to the first real activity

but I kind of understand, because the main/initial activity already has a fullscreen map, and has to locate the user and stuff. that takes some time

what I really wanted is a way to preload the map and get user location, and when everything is ok I show the main activity

you can implement a fullscreen dialog in main activity

show it untill background stuff is ready

thats exactly the sort of app I had the splash screen on, the real activity was a fullscreen map

I just started a GPS service on the splash and let it figure it out by the time it got to the main map

it's still quite accurate with the internet

Shoulder adjustments are very very expensive

as long as it fits your shoulders they can bring in the rest fairly easily

cotton is usually better. it can be warmer though

If you run ls "C:\Users\kumar.gaurav\AppData\Local\Android\android-studio1\sdk\tools" what does it give you? Does android.bat exist?
