The app I'm refactoring: author builds listview and he has only one big JSON with array of objects inside. However, he needs only one string from every object in that array. Guess what? YES! - he puts that JSON into adapter and parses it for every line in getView.

I have two TV channel lists, one is like your "favorite selection" and the other list is kind of the "master" list which contains all channels which are not on your favorite list

point is, I need to synchronize those two somehow...

a datasetobserver just gives me a raw indication that something has changed, which means I'd have to do an intersection of both datasets ;)

I could add some custom listener interfaces to the adapter like "OnRemove" "OnAdded" etc.

but don't know if it's a good idea either ;)

no no, that's probably not a bad idea

or you could just override notifyOnDataSetChanged, since you're going to call that anyway when your data set changes and do the notifying-of-the-other-list there as well

so you refactor all the stuff to a common denominator and then you realize there's another use case which isn't compatible :D
