Were it my SSD with a filesystem that didn't blow (i.e., not FAT32), it might be tolerable, but this is just awful.

Because as nice an IDE as Visual Studio is, the Microsoft C++ compiler is well known for being eons behind on modern C++ support

Not really. Just bad C++, of which there's a great deal thanks to C++98 and poor support for that because of Microsoft and the lack of a standard ABI (to be fair, C doesn't have one either, but it's a lot less complicated) and so on.

Though C++ might be nightmarish to people who've never ventured outside the Oracle/Sun-controlled walls of Java (or .NET/C#, or Microsoft's weird variants of C++ that aren't actually C++).

Apparently most browsers don't support alternate stylesheets because they're chumps, so here's a screenshot.

why won't dropbox synch files inside folder, that is actually a symbolic link to some other place? It syncs folder itselv - puts a green 'V' on it but inside - nope! ubuntu

Create a symlink outside the Dropbox directory: everything works fine. Create a symlink from outside in the Dropbox folder: it's turned into an alias instead of a proper symlink
