%(protocol)s://%(domain)s:%(http_port)s/ <- this was what I see on the /admin/settings page. My guess is that its not picking the value from conf file and is using default values.

You didn't answer any of my questions there :-) I'll start again with the 1st one: Is the domain variable set to the correct host name (not localhost but your external host name)?
