I would be scared of owning a VR headset to be completely honest

As cool as full-immersion sounds, and probably is, it's also a freaky concept for me

I can't imagine it being good for your health, physical nor mental

I think it will just lead to a more depressed society

If let's say a game like Skyrim, which was really fun and immersive in it's own right was ported or improved upon and made available for VR

I mean, the more realistic it becomes, the more drawing it becomes

Video games are already bad for people playing them instead of interacting with the world around them

If you had an entire different world where there were no real problems there that you could escape to..

I imagine people would rather be in that world than this one

Real life becomes boring, and people end up just waiting until they can go plug into their Virtual Reality

I mean how many Koreans have died from just sitting infront of a computer for 76 hours straight, or whatever that craziness was

I'm not trying to say it's bad to escape into a video game, I do it a lot.. I just mean that VR could make it a lot worse

if there were no videogames, they would have died doing some other stupid thing. You can't blame videogames for the death of some mentally unstable people

in general, it's been proven that videogames improve coordination and reflexes

and many videogames would allow people to interact in multiplayer mode, so they wouldn't be isolated

I suppose I'm just trying to pessimistically look at Virtual Reality gaming more than video games in general, I love video games

I don't think it's a bad thing. As I said, you are looking it from the side of David Cronenberg in Existenz. There are a lot of people that can't interact with modern society in the way they are expected to. Multiplayer videogames help them interact with other people that might be socially awkward or agnostic

VR would actually let them interact in a more profound way

who doesn't run away from their problems playing the guitar, smoking or going for a run? Videogames is just another tool

and not only videogames. Imagine emigrants like me. I would be able to talk and interact with my parents, not just look at a flat screen

VR has a lot of uses. Some bad? For sure. But many good. Including pr0n :P

anyway, just my impressions. But do go watch Existenz. You'll never see tortellini in the same way ever again

@lingo_journey I realized what it was after I asked. I just found it strange that the specific object knew its getClass was a subclass of Class A, but couldnt execute its own methods. Then i realized what was up
