what will happens, when a static synchronized method is called from 2 different threads in Java?

Does it blocks the second call to wait till first one finishes?
Because here the static members aren't bound to instances, rather to the class

Here is how oracle explains it, (But I can't understand it clearly :) )

You might wonder what happens when a static synchronized method is invoked, since a static method is associated with a class, not an object. In this case, the thread acquires the intrinsic lock for the Class object associated with the class. Thus access to class's static fields is controlled by a lock that's distinct from the lock for any instance of the class.

My Question : There are 2 threads that accesses a synchronize static method at the same time. Let's assume 1st one will get the lock on Object for that class. Then will 2nd one has to wait till the 1st one done with that synchronize static method?

Coming to your question yes the second one will wait afaik. When it comes to non-static synchronized It will lock on the object. Let's say there are two non-static synchronized methods and those two static methods get executed one by one. If you create one more object from another thread then call these two methods again it's the same behavior. So the two objects are independent. I have a simple class called Student

it has two attributes = private String name; & private int marks;

and the getters & setters

when I write the following stream manipulation it gives a read line marked in IDEA

Map<Integer,List<Student>> groupping = students.stream().collect(Collectors.groupingBy(Student::getMarks, Collectors.mapping(Student::getName,Collectors.toList())));
        System.out.println(groupping);

Error I'm getting on Student::getMarks on both groupingBy & mapping
