I was modifying your codes for generating my own subreports

I mean I have created 2 subreports testingObject and appSupport. and modified the main jrxml

But I am not getting the new pages embedded inside the main

I thought there are some issues with size of the main and subreports so I removed my subreports

Now I have just modified the contents(static contents) and all your code are same except the static content but It gives me the old data(static text)

I tried cleaning the project

deleted the existing the .jasper files

re compiled the jrxml files

restarted the tibco jaspersoft

but still I get the same old data

I have been struggling for it through the day but no success yet

how did you know this is the mistake related to page width so that next time I will not make mistake

The pageWidht is not the main problem but you are including it within your margins, hence you should respect the width of the inclusion

in main you have this

as you see you (or I : ), set width 555 so the subreport should be 555 (and I used no margins since main already have)

so you mean to say that subreports width should be exactly same as that of main report?

they should be the size of the inclusion.... but this is not main problem the main problem is whenNoDataType="AllSectionsNoDetail"

you are not passing a datasource so you need this otherwise it will not be displayed.

yes I remeber it you said yesterday but I thought its there in main so subReport is not needed

THat decide how the report shall display if no data, subreport works as a any other report

Often for example you like to only display subreport if you have data for it, that why

The examples you gave, when I click preview i used to see 4 pages

but my code gives 3 pages

have you changed to whenNoDataType="AllSectionsNoDetail"

and in general try to be precis with width and height if you like nice reports.

YEah that's the problem, re-compile and test, but you better set all right

I have some basic questions,

I get 4 pages also with wrong settings in subreport on margins, but I would do all with logic

so I have created another jasper report , removed all the bands except page header,detail and page footer but this page did not appear when I preview. So my doubt is if the main is having title then will the subreport should title?

your page height is only 842 then you have top and bottom margin 20+20 so 802 is the hieght you need to respect (+ it depends where in main report you included it)

@PetterFriberg sorry heights I did not remeber because since morning 7 am till now (3 am) I am doing hit and trial, so exactly all the datas I dont remeber

it should be there because I created a new jasper report , then I have copied the all your codes and pasted in the xml of the new file. Then i went to design and undelete the page header ,page footer and detail band. SO I assume whenNoDataType="AllSectionsNoDetail" but again I am sorry as I did not look into it

That's a key issue, and then always check the size issues... width/height,margins, positions etc

I thought this is a problem in japsersoft so I have downloaded now ireport and working in it
