@StefanHövelmanns Still just use composer, define interfaces in the core and some registration. You can use the composer autoloader to register the plugin classes at the core.

@thw i have a engine which turns a file into a dom and noes for templating

i have a large number of events within that logic and a user should be able too hook on those

therefore you can create your own nodes and your own language parser

the thing is that i need sort of a container to switch between languages

@StefanHövelmanns What you do with the class is not really relevant for the plugin system. Just that the core has some way to know about the classes and their api.

i have a template engine which dispatches an event to create nodes, those nodes depend on what "plugin/language" is loaded for the FILE, therefore i need to register all languages at a single place to be able to call them for each individual file.

and i have to handle the loading of the plugins within the core but the logic inside of the language plugin

So define an interface for the tag handler plugin in your core, define a static class where the plugin can register itself, develop the plugins in separate composer packages and implement the interface. Use the composer file autoloader to register the plugins at the static class in the core.

after that your core knows the plugin classes and can call them depending on the tags it finds.

the static class is what im trying to implement, but i don't know how, my background is js, so bare with me :)

i need to be able to do $core->registerLanguage(new blaLang()) from anywhere in the code

are there some resources where i can read about how to do that?

Static call, you don't have objects at this point, only classes.

The nice thing is that composer takes care of all the install, versioning, dependencies, repository, ....

@StefanHövelmanns consider github.com/Room-11/Jeeves/blob/master/cli/run.php#L154-L167 also, but instead of passing in instances (which are expensive to create and may not be needed for a given request), you pass in factories, the callbacks that @ThW was describing

do you know of a nicer print_r/var_dump i can use that outputs text only? i've found many but they all output html

@Wes var_dump() outputs text, xdebug changes it to html (here should be an xdebug option to disable that)
