can anyone update the code? p_id and Program_names are already stored in database table...when one program is select from the drop down list it should find the p_id of the chosen program name. And if it matches it should redirect to some other page.codes are below

as for your question, it seems you'll have to use ajax and javascript to first catch the change event on the select, then make an ajax call to a server, that would find the row or not, then return a response with the answer, which would be evaluated by your javascript code and in turn determine what you display

@Arslan.H just be careful. People, who have just discovered that design patterns exist, then to use them as "magic recipes", while instead they are just descriptions, that developers should use to explain to other developers what the fuck they have made there
@tereško i used a few of them before, to be honest haven't used all.Nor i did know about all of them.So i decided to spend a few days testing them.Thanks for the advice

@Arslan.H depends what you mean by logic. I would say it contains all of the "business logic", while UI layer contains all of the "presentation logic". It's kinda described here: stackoverflow.com/a/5864000/727208
(though, it's a slightly older post, that I would get around to update a bit ... the code hasn't aged well)

@DaveRandom I just mean the whole reason of sharing it in the first place is so people can check and improve your code. You don't have to wait until you create the perfect thing before you share it
