@Ocramius yeah, it's good enough … I'm not a fan of "just good enough". Should be better than that for me. I always get a crisis when seeing code which could be ten times faster … sure, docs help, but getting to master it isn't easy.
@Ocramius That's a trade-off, not an excuse for writing code which can barely handle the amount of requests to your server and collapses upon the double usual load (peak)
That's something that needs consideration. As said, Guilhermeblanco wrote pr0n websites based on ORM and heavy Symfony stack that were working under 89+ Mln users
Proper design works with any tool, and newbs of course don't get to design a system like that anyway, or else we'd be drowning in... well... buffering? :P
anyway, it's a trade-off. O-R mapping is one of those things that works very well or terribly bad depending on context

The long of the short of this is that what you want is not possible to reliably prevent, however it's easy enough copyright it, detect others using it and get some lawyers on it, if it really matters to you
