@sehe I think I'm not just the type of guy they are looking for, especially since I lack any formal uni-education (in terms of compsci). Another aspect was that I as really ill at the time (without me, or them, knowing it) - the fever probably didn't help

But yeah, it's in their good right/common sense to expect the CS foundations (I'd also flunk them. You can ask me about depth and operation upperbounds for Fibonacci Heaps and I'd draw... almost blank)

@sehe hmm.. who knows haha! I thought I was feeling "a bit" ill, and after the interview I went home and literally collapsed on the floor. My girlfriend found me on the couch some hour later, and she noticed that I was running a really high fever

@sehe that's the thing, and also what I heard from other engineers at google. They are looking for a quite narrow set of individuals, and the interviews are made to find these - if you are not in that particular range (for whatever reason) it is quite hard to get through
