other languages are just more enjoyable to work in

3. Blue cards = "developer happiness" = no value for the customer, but good for longevity, architecture, etc

2. White cards = subtasks. No value on their own, but necessary for something else.

1. Green cards = "customer happiness" = product tasks, new features, etc. Adds functionality or improves upon it

here we work in scrum iterations, and have 3 kinds of tasks

but if you work in iterations, and you are allowed to claim a day or two per iteration to do "developer-happiness" tasks, then you are golden

of course you will almost never get the opportunity to rewrite or do things all at once

or if they force you to add shit to the existing pile

the deciding factor is whether they give you space and time to clean it up

you will find legacy and past messes in every company

and gets harder the bigger the company is

getting an employee to the point where he cares about the company, that's a difficult thing

hours fly by

if you are passionate about the things you do and build

a job can be very fun
