@JerryCoffin ¬_¬ it would have to be a lot more then 5 years old to warrant having got ddr2... it was a concious decisions on my part to not pay the little bit extra for a better mobo

yeah, I think I need to replace the lot, CPU is am2+ socket, which seems to no longer be supported

@thecoshman Not all that much over 5 years. When I got my motherboard (July 2006) DDR3 was available, but was still substantially more expensive than DDR2. About a year later I upgraded from 4 GB to 8 GB, and at that time DDR3 had dropped to about the same price as DDR2.

People think mixing causes vomitting because, usually, their night goes like this: they start with beer, then, when they're drunk enough, suddenly they think that taking all those shots is a very good idea.

Then they puke, and they assume it's because they mixed, not because they took all those shots.

Anyway, my best tip is this: if you feel like you're gonna puke, puke. Don't try to keep it in.

I think Etienne is mostly right: it's mostly about quantity of alcohol. "Mixing" mostly leads to consuming a lot more. There is one other detail though: when you mix with (for one example) lots of caffeine (e.g., Red Bull) that can make you feel pretty sick all by itself (especially if you don't already drink a lot of caffeine).

I think it has something to do with the absorption ratio of the various liquids. So if you drink something which easily and relatively quickly releases alcohol into the body (say, wine), followed by something which does so slower (say, beer) ... then you may feel the effects more potently because you're slightly sobering up between drinks, and begin feeling your "hangover".
