@GypsySpellweaver I must admit I'd assumed that part had been tested. I was mostly interested in the half that corresponds to where we are in the process now.

The "instant close" option proposed would require a manual override to the running system, which I doubt the CMs would do. Especially as the beginning of final voting is already scheduled and it would be unfair to users to change that now.

@GypsySpellweaver That's what I'd expect. I'd expect it to only check the condition at the point when a choice is being made to have, or not have, a primary. However, in order to update the UI during the nomination phase, it may make that check at each time a candidate submits their nomination or withdraws.
