Okay, @Grant, I have a few minutes now. Some advice, any room you enter into, read the rules first, it will be towards the top right corner of the room. For our room it will be sobotics.org. Read that first, you'll get to know the culture of the room.

Secondly, don't ping random users. It is like nagging them at the back, which might annoy them.

Now, in our room particularly, we've got READMEs for all the bots.

The bot which you are interested in, FireAlarm, is a well established bot of the room. It has a README github.com/SOBotics/FireAlarm, a how to use guide github.com/SOBotics/FireAlarm/wiki and a Stack Apps post stackapps.com/questions/7183/…

Go through all of them, you can easily set up a FireAlarm on your own, in your own public room.
