Questions like this you posted doesn't seem to be useful, which is why they attracted discrete downvotes.

In general, when preparing to ask a question, you should form an SSCCE and try to work out "the problem" and not "your failed solution".

Also note that I only gave relevant information. Imagine if I had also said (in addition to everything in number 2) "I've only been golfing for six months and I am a beginner but I just bought a brand new set of clubs"

That's why we discourage people saying "I am a beginner" or "Thanks!" - the goal is to be a repository of knowledge. We are closer to Wikipedia than we are to a forum or /r/Programming

@JpHouten You can practice in this chatroom. Work extra hard to not have spelling errors and eliminate extra text - things which are totally fine in a social setting (which Stack Overflow is not! Think Encyclopedia). If I were to edit your earlier message, it might become:

@JpHouten I would say the average age on Stack Overflow is much higher than that of, say, reddit, so you'll find there is a lot less tolerance for txtspk "sup? how r u. cu later"

And, honestly, in the chatroom we don't really care either, but they WILL care on the main site, and it's good practice.
