i have an android app that is intended to receive data from a server; the server is in GWT/java; something i dont understand about it is the entry point. i want the app to call the server and say "hey i need X" - how is the server supposed to answer to that? which method is supposed to catch the request and how?
Does anyone here know a bit about font optimization? I've got a handwriting font that looks smooth on Linux, but on Windows, especially the small font sizes have ugly corners.
I've tried FontForge's AutoHint, but it did not improve the look. It looks just as ClearType was not strong enough for the font, even since other fonts look well on Windows.

I don't know the reason for this, but I do see how it is annoying for myself and can be for others.
I don't ever want to discourage someone from trying to learn, or from programming in general. But I do make the stand to only helping those who are willing to also help themselves.
Should I learn Wordpress ? ... I have not enjoyed playing with CMS'ses in the past. But if I want to get serious I guess I have to learn one, because not everyone wants a single page fancy ass hand scripted html page
I would prefer to avoid php.. Learn to build efficient pages with it. And then once I can do that, write my own template so I don't feel so horribly restricted. That's my main issue. Because I don't know cms, I feel so stuck in a box! That AND I enjoy coding
@mikedidthis That was a nice read! I have been waiting for a proper NodeJS cms! I guess I stopped looking :D Totally checking that one out. Biggest fear would be the "extra fee" for hosting nodeJS

Alright. Fuck you Chrome. I dunno what is wrong with it. I already said that in the JavaScript room and got some answers. But it wont let me open the localhost. Firefox did though. :) All set up. This is gonna be fun
@mikedidthis All good :) Anything that can excite so I can get out of my bills is great :) But yes, it does not look like I am going to build the next ebay via that cms :p Not a problem since I am a novice though. Gonna read some of the source code, make a Theme, and Look forward to some plugins
That it is in JS and running on NodeJS is enough to make is super great for me
@mikedidthis What I hope is that this ghost cms stays minimal and that all the plugins are optional download. So that it does not become such a heavy beast as wordpress :)
