@AndrasDeak I didn't even realize I was this clever - Sometimes my own ingeniuety frightens me!

a small python rant:

if filter(lambda x:x==99, [1,2,3]): print("true")

actually prints "true". you know why? cause filter doesn't return a list or whatever other type of collection it was fed, but a filter object. and unlike other collections, an empty filter object is truthy

god knows why
