I used to use grids, but its easier to work with out them.

I design to a custom grid, but I don't code with a grid framework, that's probably a better answer.

You know, this disallowing IDs in selectors stuff is quite wrong as a generalization.

There are very valid cases where you want to limit a certain style to a specific element or to elements within a certain parent.

Google contacted me twice and two more Silicon Valley based companies as well (don't ask me how and why they contacted me I have no clue) but if such a website gets released and I'm referenced to it ... nah, that'd ruin everything.

The Google job offer was quite interesting actually. It would have been for the core web team, their search portal.
