can anyone tell me what representation this is: "\a©ÖP"? I'm reading this using readBin(charToRaw("\a©ÖP"), what = "integer", size = 2L, endian = "big")

e.g. is this "binary"? a specific encoding in binary? etc.

the end goal is to convert this string to a integer in Rcpp from a 'char' type buffer, but all searches for "binary" to integer are the expected 0/1 kind
