@PuzzledBoy well, the problem here is that bad tagging leads to bad visibility of questions > less experts seeing > less answers. And with the swarm of low-quality questions it becomes harder and harder to answer, so we do some cleanups from time to time. Thank you for looking into it, though :)

@PuzzledBoy yeah, the discussions are extensive, I know (this is not the only Q&A it spans as well)... The summary is something like this: if you think that triggers is a good tag, you can skim through your questions / answers and see if some match that tag and add it, once the score (upvotes minus downvotes) is recalculated, you will be eligible to vote for the synonym.

I checked - no, no score - but [tag:javascript] is rich with Q&As about triggers, after all that's the main purpose of the discussion - to solve both the problem of [tag:database-triggers] (which we solved) and decide on what to do with simple and installable triggers.
Given the poor state of tagging overall - I would not be surprized if a lot can be added
