@Trilarion: One important way in which this analogy breaks down, is that unions are very strongly protected by law, at least in my jurisdiction. Firing someone for speaking up at a union meeting and firing someone for speaking up for the union would be so illegal that not even the most ruthless manager or lawyer would even dare to dream about it, let alone talk about it or even do it. @JörgWMittag You're right, there is no protection by law here and additionally unions are only for employees - you can hardly negotiate a salary if you don't get one. But still I like to think of meta as a union because it's the idea that's so similar, i.e. have an organization and representation of workers and I feel like I'm doing work here, so I must be a worker. — Trilarion 1 min ago

This is meta.stackoverflow, not stackoverflow. Your answer hasn't been deleted because there is no reason to; it's just a bad answer, so it's been downvoted. You have equated editing people's questions with being "unwelcoming"; the reason people edit your questions is to improve them so that you are more likely to get a useful answer. There is no reason to take that as a rejection or a personal slight. Your appeal for "less forcing new users into what is deemed to be 'good questions'" would in practice mean accepting almost all low quality questions, making Stack Overflow much less useful. — kaya3 just now

I don't think the country you select could either cause your account to be deleted, or make it harder to recover your account if you forgot your password/etc. I suggest choosing a different (perhaps nearby) country from the list for now. The edited question's onebox is now updated to the new gist, the answer is void. Usually when at top of the list of questions about specific tag (not to be confused with list of questions at main page) appears option to load new questions, those new questions contain only information about title/description/when it was asked/who author is. IMO it could be intentional change. Maybe it is A/B test where I was assigned to group which has this functionality - in which case I would like to be removed from it (that is why "where can I turn it off?" part in my question which is not covered by suggested duplicate). @Trilarion The meta evolved its own "acceptable" opinion standards, which are ortohogonal to the success of the site (and contradicting to the success of the site network). Beside that, the company is simply incompetent to handle its own success, its structural cause is likely Peters' Principle. This answer was deleted multiple times last week and I rolled back the deletion multiple times. I was ultimately suspended for a week. So clearly it was important enough to someone to delete. Regarding malintent, as a newcomer who is less familiar with how things work here, you are less able to judge intent than the more experienced users who have explained in other answers above that editing your questions is not malicious; even so, does it not strike you as extremely unlikely that the Stack Overflow community has decided to hate you in particular for no reason? Maybe you would have a better experience on Stack Overflow if you tried to participate as a community member, which like participating in any community includes observing that community's rules and norms. If you arrive in a new community and expect them to change their rules and norms (e.g. about editing questions and moderation) to suit you, then you won't get what you want, and it's entirely your own fault for expecting the wrong thing. — kaya3 1 min ago

I've seen a decline in the attitudes of the community members and your denial that there is anything wrong is part of the problem with this community. I consider myself an intelligent person with degrees in both physics and economics. When "all" posts going back years are edited by a moderator to a point where it's a different question and important details are edited out after I contradict that same moderator online, that seems pretty fishy to me. @trilarion: several of the answers here only identify the corporate mission and the meta mission, which leads me to wonder whether metazens think that the rest of SO's user community is, in fact, a community, with or without a mission, a culture or a network of interpersonal relationships. Had anyone asked me whether I considered myself a part of the SO community, I would have answered "yes" without reservations, but I'm not even one of the 10/11 who read and don't write; I read meta only when distracted by clickbait, which is not often. @kaya3 Regarding my old posts that were repeatedly deletes on this very question, even after modifying my posts to fall in line with your community standards they continued to get deleted and lead to my suspension. So it doesn't matter if you change your tone and edit. Simply re-posting a a modified version is still enough to get you suspended. On that one question I see you got into an edit war with a moderator, who tried to format your error log and your code to make it more readable - they even made the edit comment "Code formatting (did not remove anything from the post)" - and yet you rolled that back. Every time CodyGray, the moderator I contradicted here, made edits it looked in the diff editor like all my code had changed. I had to go through every line of code numerous times. A log file is not code! The way the insert code function in the stuckoverflow editor works is non-intuitive. Why am I going to waste my time posting something on a site where I need to expend 10x the effort checking unnecessary edits without any clear purpose? I addressed your link with three points: (1) you are equating editing with being unwelcoming, which is wrong, because (2) edits are made to make it more likely you will get a useful answer, and (3) there is no reason to interpret an edit as a rejection or an insult. @kaya3 My other questions were actually answered, and I answered an number of questions that no longer show up. The question was completely readable with the log not inside code brackets. Which I tried to do, but I couldn't make the headings for each log stand out with the crappy editor. It's funny how you only make the same argument over and over without until my 20th edit. CodyGray could have offered assistance in how to use the buggy editor instead of just reapplying the changes over and over.
