CM_Get_Device_Interface_ListW of course can be used in win32 apps, the Find(First|Next)Volume internally use IOCTL_MOUNTMGR_QUERY_POINTS - so return only list of mounted volumes, of course if we search not for all, but only for ntfs mounted this is enough. what is better use depend from general task
