Has this bug been found as the cause of other bugs ? I'm not sure public librairies use that kind of "golf-like" semantics, but if it turns out to break existing code, that would be a way bigger problem ..

@ArthurAttout Well if it's the case, no one reported it to Oracle before. That's the only certainty we have.
