Did you know there's a way to quickly switch to terminal-mode in Linux?
Press Ctrl+Alt+{F1-F6}
This allows you to switch teletype terminals. Your GUI runs on one of the terminals, usually 7 (Alt+F7).
I'm taking the Introduction to Linux course on edx.org: edx.org/course/introduction-linux-linuxfoundationx-lfs101x-2
Another thing I learned was the "file" command. It inspects the contents of a given file to determine what kind of file it is (PDF, JPEG, etc).

Ugh... How do you handle making 50k request concurrently with node? Or rather, how do you handle 50k requests at all?? (sending not receiving)
