So it turns out this is a bug as Erik Nedwidek pointed out. I took the easy route and downgraded gson from 2.2.2 to 1.7.1, everything works a treat now !

When I have google plus connected, it directly displays username and email. Till now it works good. I have logout button, when I click logout and then when I sign in, it's not connecting with google plus and not displaying mail and username. How to solve this?
