@Sakthivel sounds like a CASE statement. Did you get an error or something when you tried it?

@Shaneis Yes and I wrote a case statement and it is working. But I did have a problem with CTE select statement. I had to select into a temp table from CTE and use the temp table in the case statement.

A weird error said CTE wasn't a recognised object in the case statement. It works anyway. Forwarded it to the DBA for review and he said he'll refactor it if I bought him a coffee next morning. Done
