What is the correct response when someone is misusing codeblocks to show emphasis (stackoverflow.com/a/45581467/6049581) in an edit? I've looked through his edit history and found that he/she does this every now and then, but on their own posts. Do I just comment? Do I revert the edit? Should I mod flag it?
@Frits I've made the edit and I'll leave a comment (I need to try and phrase it in a way that isn't rude) but with these I tend to make an edit and leave a comment. It usually works

Yeah with their own posts I wouldn't take much notice but if they are doing it to other posts a comment is best. I've left one, hopefully they don't get mad :P I'm not quite sure why they felt their edit was necessary with the code formatting. They may reply to give some insight.
Also I don't think a mod flag would be necessary FYI as the community can deal with it. A flag would probably get declined unless it does become malicious which in this case I don't think it is as you say. I just think they are using it for emphasis.
