@CathG I occasionally convert other people's comments to answers, but then I CW my answer.
When SO is really dull, I sometimes dig through the "unanswered" R questions queue and make such conversions, but usually only if the person who asked the question still appears to be active on SO.

I don't care what anyone says on how SO works or not, I won't become a stealer because of it

Hopefully that person would accept the answer, which moves it out of the unanswered queue, and maybe makes the R answerers look like a friendly helpful bunch.
