@VikasSharma is the xdebug extension installed on the new server? if so, remove it completely.

I was told this is latency problem

you should never run xdebug on a live server. it slows down up to 400%. you only install xdebug for profiling code

which would be my next suggestion.

the issue is whether in your situation the change in location had any significant impact or is the server just badly configured

(having server on a different continent can change the response time up the 500ms in my experience)

so open up your browser, hit ctrl+shift+i to open the developer tools, go to the network panel and do the request to your server

"waiting" is the "time to the first byte sent"

phpinfo does not show it.... xdebug_get_code_coverage does not show return any error which means its installed..

I checked it on SO.how to find if its installed or not..

@VikasSharma well, you login screen alone transfers 1.5MB with almost 1 MB in 42 JS files and 500 kb in 10 CSS files. Your browser will only download two files at a time, so you lose time there. Combining them into one file each will already speed up page time significantly. Minifying them will require the browser to transfer less, but minifying only saves you a few kb. Gzipping will likely reduce the weight of the page to 100 or 200kb. So yes, you want to do that.

enabling gzip is a very low hanging fruit and cheap win. there is no reason not to enable it unless you have a very weak server

Okay..I am going to do the same..but one thing.. when MY new server was 6GB then the response took same time ... after 12 GB its taking same time.. In future I am planning to enhance so that can get faster response..

So BitBucket just told me it cannot me log me in anymore with my username and that I should use my atlassian account instead. It also showed me the correct email to use for doing so. Afaik, the migration to the Atlassian account didnt require a new password to be set, so it could have just logged me in and told me afterwards instead of forcing me to enter my password again. Right? Thanks for the inconvenience.
