You'd need to keep the children at fixed dimensions

if you cannot use fixed dimensions you could try putting in empty views and increasing their weight relative to the views that stay the same

or even just giving them a weight but keeping the children at wrap_content

it's important to always take someone slower than you when hiking, in case of bears

since the layout params height are exact prior to the animation being called

you get the stretch effect

so i have to find out a way to set the layout params

before it animates

without it affecting the animation

because if you set it before it animates, the animation runs based on the new height, not the old one
