Which uses two listviews, two adapters, and everything.

It's probably the simplest way to test first before implementing a whole new adapter.

Are you sure a header is even the right way to go here? I didn't question it because it's not my app, but what if there's a ton of school closings

and you have to scroll through a ton of those just to get to news articles

you shouldn't put two different lists vertically stacked unless they are small enough that they both fit on screen

most likely when there is a school closing, there will be at most 2-3. There is another option that closes them all and that will show as one closing.

Or consider an ExpandableListView? That might be a bit of a stretch though.

if it's not small enough then cap the Listview at 1/2 the screen height so you don't have to scroll to see the bottom one. The content scrolls anyway no need for the activity to scroll also.

if neither of those are an option the re-work it into 2 different activities.

i went a different direction with the multiple listviews on one view. Now, if there are school closings it shows a button above the news listview that says "Show School Closings" that when clicked, shows a list of closings on a separate screen.

So usually it will auto complete if I do like android:paddingRi and hit enter it'll give me android:paddingRight="" but it's not adding the quotes it's just adding up to the equal sign

so I have to enter quotes which I've never done before because I keep screwing up lol
